OBITUARY- Captain Andrew Smith
Captain Andrew Smith, of the British Merchant Service, who was master of the Salamaua when she towed the Mako across the Tasman in August, 1938, and, by remarkable seamanship, saved the Mako when it twice broke adrift between Newcastle and Sydney, has died of wounds following an enemy air attack on his ship in the Mediterranean in September.
