HMS Calgarian is torpedoed by the German submarine U19 off Rathlin Island, Northern Ireland.
The crew manages to isolate the damage but the U boat captain presses home the attack even though the cruiser is surrounded by destroyers and other ships, and torpedoes her again, and she sinks.
